Welcome to The Cathedral Hotel

Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

The Cathedral Hotel is a family-owned and run hotel and part of The Webb Group. You will find many of the services we provide below, however, if there’s anything you need please do not hesitate to contact the Reception team by dialling “200”.

Guest Services

Breakfast
Breakfast is served in our restaurant, which is situated to the left of Reception, where you can enjoy a freshly cooked full English breakfast. Early start in the Morning? Enquire about ordering a Grab & Go breakfast.

Breakfast Opening Times
Monday to Friday: 7am to 9.30am
Saturday, Sunday  8am to 10am

Check Out Time
Guests are required to vacate their bedrooms by 11am on the day of departure.

Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi hotspots for free Broadband internet access are available in all public areas and bedrooms. You can connect as many devices as you wish with unrestricted usage. If you experience any problems with  Wi-Fi please call 0333 444 2899 at any time (free phone number for both landlines and mobiles).

Car Parking
Guests who have booked directly have complimentary car parking, subject to availability. Please note a £5 fee will be applied for bookings made through a third party site (booking.com, Expedia etc) to park at the hotel.

Reception is operational 24 hours a day. Please dial “200”

Blankets, Pillows, Towels & Bedding
To request additional towels, blankets or pillows please contact Reception by dialling “200”. Baby cots and bedding are charged at £10 per night.

Phone Chargers, Adaptors, Cables
& Anything Else You May Have Forgotten To Pack!
Phone chargers, plug adaptors, connectivity cables (to enable you to connect your device to the TV) are available to borrow from Reception for a deposit of £5. Please contact Reception by dialling “200”.

Laundry & Dry Cleaning
A same-day service is available Monday to Friday except Public Holidays. You will find a Dry Cleaning/Laundry bag in the desk drawer - all items received at Reception by 9am will be returned by within 24hours.

Housekeeping Service
Your room will not be serviced during your stay, however, if you do wish housekeeping to refresh your room we will be more than happy to do so - please let Reception know. Replacement tea tray items and fresh towels are available - just ask at Reception.

Iron / Ironing Board
Please contact Reception by dialling “0” if you would like an iron and ironing board to use.

Luggage
Should you require assistance with your luggage, please contact Reception by dialling “0”. Secure luggage storage is available 24 hours a day.

Newspapers
If you would like to have a newspaper delivered in the morning please inform Reception the night before by dialling “200”.

Packed Lunches
Pre-order a packed lunch to include a sandwich, crisps, flapjack, fruit and bottle of water for £8.95. Please order your packed lunch at Reception. 

Smoking
The hotel is entirely non smoking and for the comfort of all our guests, smoking is not allowed in bedrooms (a £100 fine will apply if this policy is not observed). There is a designated smoking area outside the restaurant.

Take-Away Breakfasts
Early start tomorrow?  We are happy to arrange a take-out breakfast; please speak to  a member of our reception team when you  check in, if your breakfast is already included in your rate.

Taxis
Reception will be pleased to arrange a taxi for you. Please dial “200”.

Complimentary emergency toiletries (shaving kits, toothbrushes, toothpaste and combs) are available 24 hours from Reception. As part of our commitment to reduce waste we have installed soap and shampoo/body wash dispensers in guest bathrooms. If, however, you prefer individual bars of soap please contact Reception by dialling “200”.

Valuables
Please do not leave your valuables unattended in your bedroom, items of high value (non-monetary) should be offered to reception for deposit in the main safe and a receipt will be issued.

Refreshments

Bar
The comfortable fully licensed lounge bar is on the ground floor adjacent to Reception. Here you can enjoy morning coffee.
Available from 10am until 11pm every day. Drinks are available to hotel residents outside these hours.

You can now order a delicious homecooked pizza in the bar or in your room. Available 6pm to 9pm Monday to Saturday. Order in the bar or dial 200. 

Dining
Our sister hotel, The George, is on Bird Street which is just a five minute walk away. Here there are plenty of dining options, whether you choose a light snack, bar meal or a traditional afternoon tea in the lounge bar, hearty comfort food from the lunchtime carvery or modern British food in Darwin’s restaurant.
